Streamlining Experimentation: Hybrid AI Helps to Learn More About Photovoltaic Materials

At FAU Solar we use hybrid (physics aware) artificial intelligence to learn more about photovoltaic materials from faster and simpler experiments. For example, we can obtain performance relevant aspects of microstructure by analysing simple absorption spectra. In many cases, this helps us avoid more complex experiments, which is speeding up materials optimization. And what is best – our algorithms save energy and do not need “click workers” to train them.
