About the Symposium: The “Women in Science-Erlangen Symposium” is an initiative that originated in 2018, driven by passionate female scientists at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg. Its primary aim is to foster a strong network of women in science, addressing gender inequalities and gaps within the field. The event brings together female scientists at various career stages, shining a spotlight on the remarkable scientific achievements and career developments of female researchers from around the world.
Building on the success of a series of symposia, we are thrilled to continue this journey in 2024.
What Makes Our Symposium Unique:
- Female-Led Organizing Committee: The organizing committee comprises dedicated female doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers from the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy at FAU.
- Inspirational Speakers: We invite exceptional female speakers to present their groundbreaking research findings.
- Sharing Experiences: This symposium provides a platform for female researchers to not only showcase their scientific achievements but also share their challenges and paths to success in academia.
- Career Insights: Early-stage researchers can gain valuable insights into career prospects and establish networks and collaborations with renowned female scientists.
Open to All: While our primary focus is on women in science, the symposium is open to everyone, regardless of gender or status. We strongly encourage the participation of individuals of all genders, including male, female, and non-binary.
