SAOT Student Award 2025 for Albert These

We are proud to share that Albert These has been awarded the SAOT Student Award 2025 for his outstanding publication:

Beginner’s Guide to Visual Analysis of Perovskite and Organic Solar Cell Current Density–Voltage Characteristics

The award ceremony will take place during the SAOT Young Researcher Award Ceremony on July 25 at 4 PM in Lecture Hall H8, MHB Building.

About the Paper:

Current-voltage (JV) characteristics are the most important measurement for evaluating solar cells, as they determine power conversion efficiency. Moreover, they also contain valuable information on performance-limiting loss mechanisms, if analyzed correctly. In this publication, we developed a structured method to identify the most likely loss mechanisms from JV curves. We combined insights from an extensive literature review with drift-diffusion simulations to illustrate typical signatures of losses. The result is a clear, beginner-friendly flowchart that guides researchers in data interpretation and experiment planning. This work bridges scientific depth with educational value, helping researchers to better understand and improve their devices.

Congratulations to Albert for this great achievement!
